Samsung has already started distributing One UI 3.1 to its flagship tablet from 2019. The OS, based on Android 11, has arrived two months earlier than planned, and brings a host of new features to the tablet.
According to a report by AllAboutSamsung, Samsung has already started distributing One UI 3.1 to the Galaxy Tab S6, a tablet that the company released in August 2019. As we have previously reported, One UI 3.1 debuted on the Galaxy S21 series and contains minor changes from One UI 3.0. Some of these changes include revised camera features, but One UI 3.1 remains based on Android 11.
So far, Samsung has released One UI 3.1 to the Galaxy Tab S6’s LTE variant and has offered no indication of when it will upgrade the Wi-Fi version. We cannot refer to an official roadmap here either, as One UI 3.1 has arrived two months earlier than planned. Nonetheless, we expect Samsung to begin upgrading the Wi-Fi variant within the next week or so, seeing as both models should be on the same development branch.
The One UI 3.1 upgrade is a 2.2 GB download and carries the build number T865XXU4CUB7. Additionally, the update contains the March 2021 security patch. An overview of the new features that Samsung has included in One UI 3.1 can be found here. Meanwhile, you can read our thoughts on the Galaxy Tab S6 in our corresponding review.
